Adam is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in Illinois and member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers (MINT). For over 10 years he has worked as a counselor in a variety of settings and most recently has been working in an outpatient private practice.

He was first introduced to Motivational Interviewing (MI) during a graduate level substance abuse counseling class in the Spring of 2007. However it wasn’t until after attending an 18 hour training as part of an agency wide initiative in 2015 that Adam became passionate about MI. Since that time Adam has used Motivational Interviewing with nearly every client he works with across a wide variety of settings and presenting problems.

Adam has been facilitating Motivational Interviewing trainings since 2015 and was invited to join the MINT in 2016. He has experience training MI to counselors, social workers, professors, and students.

Adam also has been trained to use the Motivational Interviewing Treatment Integrity coding tool (MITI) 4.2.1 to code audio recordings of MI conversations and provide feedback to the practitioner.
